Yep Burt was deffo a huge influence, not so much for anything he played but for his lessons
I got the idea for this from this Youtube clip:

In that video, it's mentioned that Dave Davies riff in "You really got me" was a massive influence

To be honest though, none of these people would have music to play if not for people like Lead Belly.

Who was it who said:
One chord is fine. Two chords are pushing it. Three chords and you're into jazz?

Jimmy Page was a great technical guitarist, but has not got an original idea in his body. Stole practically every tune Led Zep produced.

Blind Lemon Jefferson
Leadbelly
Robert Johnson
Django Rheinhardt
Chuck Berry
Bob Dylan
Jimi Hendrix/(Jimmy Page)
They are the big hitters I know of well, that have definitely affected the choices of future players; be it with playing style, or recording style. There are others I'm not familiar with.
I can't think of anyone since Hendrix who has truly shaken the guitar world as much as he did. Page did something similar at a similar time, but since then........?

We're talking guitarists. Whatever ideas Page stole, I dare say he did them a lot better than whoever came up with them. Who, other than Hendrix, could rock a guitar anywhere near as well as Page?
